About Teazak Region

India is the hub for the production of tea, the majority of it being in the Assam and Darjeeling regions. There is a debate about which one to choose, but each of them has their significance. While one is produced in the hilly regions of Himalayas, the other is produced in the lowlands. They are popular globally for their quality, aroma and the richness of its flavours. At Fernweh Agro, we get the freshly produced organic tea right from the tea gardens of Assam and Darjeeling. You can buy your favourite tea online from the diverse options that are available.

Regions of tea production

If you are wondering what is the difference between the tea production in Assam and Darjeeling, here’s all you need to know:

  • Assam: With over 800 tea estates, the loamy and wet weather conditions of Assam make it suitable for tea production. During the production process, the leaves usually have a darker colour, offering a rich and bold flavour. Assam has more tea production and longer harvest seasons as compared to Darjeeling. The Assam tea is produced in two flushes.
  • Darjeeling: Produced in the hilly regions, the Darjeeling tea is popular for its ‘muscatel flavour’. The tea leaves are generally tender, with a light colour infusion. The harvest time of this tea is less as compared to Assam tea, making it more expensive and even of higher quality and flavour. The Darjeeling tea is produced in four flushes.
